Wye Valley Yurt is a hand-built glamping yurt on the edge of Hudnalls Nature Reserve in St Briavels, Gloucestershire right on the England/Wales border. Built by its owner using reclaimed materials, it sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Phone signal is limited here, which means you genuinely switch off. This is proper woodland glamping, not a field with a tent.
The yurt sits in its own patch of woodland where nuthatches, woodpeckers, deer and owls are regular visitors. The Wye Valley Ramble passes right alongside the site. Tintern Abbey and the River Wye are within easy reach for kayaking, canoeing and walking.

Inside, there's a king-size bed with Welsh sheep's-wool pillows and a skylight above. The open-plan space includes a log burner, gas hob, cafetière and fridge. Outside: a private veranda, firepit and outdoor kitchen. The wood-fired hot tub is available to hire as an add-on.
Tintern Abbey is 4 miles away. Chepstow Castle is 8 miles. Symonds Yat Rock is 7 miles. Monmouth town centre is 9 miles.

The yurt was built by its owner using reclaimed materials. It sits beautifully within the woodland and feels genuinely one-of-a-kind.
A complimentary sweet breakfast is included using free-range eggs from the owner's hens plus tea, coffee, milk, flour, lemons and sugar. A lovely touch on arrival.
Dogs stay free. The yurt is set in woodland so supervision is advised around the local wildlife. Sturdy footwear and a torch are recommended for the walk from the car park.
Nuthatches, woodpeckers, deer, owls and birds of prey are all spotted regularly. This is a working woodland, not a manicured holiday park.
Limited phone signal and deep woodland surroundings mean you genuinely disconnect. One guest called it a magical place perfect for peace, quiet and celebration.

To reach Wye Valley Yurt by car, head to St Briavels in Gloucestershire via the B4228 through the Forest of Dean. The postcode GL15 6TA will get you close. Parking is available 200 metres up the track from the yurt the ground is rough so be prepared and bring sturdy footwear and a torch for the short walk down.
The nearest train station is Lydney, approximately 7 miles away, with connections from Gloucester. From Lydney you'll need a taxi or pre-arranged transport to reach the yurt as there is no direct bus route to St Briavels.
