Wye Valley Gypsy Caravan is a hand-built glamping retreat sitting directly on the Offa's Dyke Path in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the England-Wales border. Built by its owner using reclaimed materials it sits within the Hudnalls nature reserve in Gloucestershire surrounded by ancient woodland and dry-stone walls. Limited phone signal helps you genuinely switch off.
The Forest of Dean and River Wye are on your doorstep. Nuthatches, woodpeckers, deer and owls are regularly spotted. You can kayak the Wye, walk to Tintern Abbey or follow mapped woodland trails to The George Inn in St Briavels.

Inside you get an open-plan king-size bedroom with Welsh wool pillows and cotton bedding made up on arrival. The kitchen has an electric hob, fridge, cafetiere and wine glasses. Your private bath-house hut has a double-ended jet tub under a glass roof showing the tree canopy above. There's also a private outdoor hot shower beneath the oak trees.
Tintern Abbey is a short walk away. Chepstow Castle is 8 miles (20 minutes). Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean is 6 miles (15 minutes). Monmouth town centre is 9 miles (20 minutes).

The caravan was hand-built by its owner using reclaimed materials and sits within the protected Hudnalls nature reserve on the Offa's Dyke Path.
Guests arrive to a complimentary hamper with tea, coffee, milk and free-range eggs from the owner's hens to make your own pancakes.
The outdoor firepit and glass-roofed bath-house both offer clear views of the night sky making this a brilliant spot for stargazing.
Dogs are welcome at no extra charge. The woodland setting means leads and close supervision are recommended around the local wildlife.

To reach Wye Valley Gypsy Caravan by car, head towards St Briavels in Gloucestershire near the GL15 6TA postcode. The approach track is rough so drive carefully and be prepared for uneven ground on the final stretch to the parking area 200 metres from the caravan.
The nearest train station is Lydney, approximately 6 miles away. From Lydney you can take a taxi to the caravan. Chepstow station across the border in Wales is also within reasonable distance and well served from Cardiff and Bristol.
