Built by its owner using reclaimed materials it sits within the Hudnalls nature reserve in Gloucestershire surrounded by ancient woodland and dry-stone walls. Limited phone signal helps you genuinely switch off.

The Forest of Dean and River Wye are on your doorstep. Nuthatches, woodpeckers, deer and owls are regularly spotted. You can kayak the Wye, walk to Tintern Abbey or follow mapped woodland trails to The George Inn in St Briavels. The firepit is perfect for stargazing on clear nights.

Inside you get an open-plan king-size bedroom with Welsh wool pillows and cotton bedding made up on arrival. The kitchen has an electric hob, fridge, cafetiere and wine glasses. Your private bath-house hut has a double-ended jet tub under a glass roof showing the tree canopy above. There's also a private outdoor hot shower beneath the oak trees.

Tintern Abbey is a short walk away. Chepstow Castle is 8 miles (20 minutes). Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean is 6 miles (15 minutes). Monmouth town centre is 9 miles (20 minutes).
