Bears Court Unit 2, Cotswolds

Location was superb and the accommodation was fabulous. The added bonus was the Hot tub and being able to take two dogs without additional costs. All three couples (and dogs) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended

The property is in a very small and quiet village with no shops or pubs. It is a short drive to Neighbouring towns, and this suited us. The property was a mixed bag for us. The downstairs area was well set out with a kitchen, dining area and lounge in an open plan style. This was really good for our group. However, there were a number of small issues with maintenance as noted in a previous review. The secure gate latch was falling off making it a not so secure environment, the front door key was broken and could not be used, the clock in the lounge did the work, a freezer draw was broken, the fridge door was broken, the nest of tables had wobbly legs and were unsafe, and the hoover had a horrible smell. We found the rooms very small which, particularly the upstairs room with two single beds. Two single beds had been pushed together but there was no room for a bed side table for glass of water/phones etc. the sloping roof also made moving around the room little awkward. There were no wardrobes in any of the rooms, but they all had a small rail wedged into the corner. This was ok, but did make everything a little cramped. By contrast, the bathrooms / en suites were very spacious. That said, they would have benefited from some shelving for toiletries and some hooks for dressing gowns. There were cupboards until the sinks, but the shelves were low down and not accessible for elderly people. The hot tub was great fun, although it took us ages to understand how to use the various controls. Parking was excellent, two allocated spaces with loads of space for larger cars if required. There were a few bits (tea, coffee etc.), but no welcome pack. Overall, we enjoyed our stay although the lack of maintenance and the lack of nice touches left us feeling that the property was overpriced. Ps be careful of the kettle when you pour the water out as the steams burns your hands and could cause a nasty accident.
