Stanley Barn in Near Stroud, Cotswolds

Great holiday cottage, pictures don’t do it justice, much bigger than expected. Located in a cute little village, nice quiet location. Cottage had everything we needed, hot tub and little courtyard were a perfect spot to relax after a full day of exploring the Cotswolds. Everything you needed was provided, the milk and cake on arrival made for a perfect afternoon tea after a long drive. We also got to go Sunflower picking on the farm, which was a beautiful experience. Highly recommended!

Just back from a week at Stanley Barn. Very well laid out with a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking. Lemon cake and milk left for our arrival. Downstairs bathroom with shower, upstairs bathroom with a bath also including a shower in the main bedroom which works out well. Family bedroom has a very comfortable super king bed along with a comfortable single. I would only advise if you are tall to remember the beams!! which are a beautiful feature. Use of the hot tub in the private courtyard was amazing and a nice touch to the property. Ignore previous reviews of the flies - I think I saw one the whole week. Calf shed around the corner with vending machine of fresh milk, eggs, cheese, crisps and sweet treats. Only niggle would be a mop in the under stairs cupboard due to having some wet weather and not able to clean the floor properly and possibly missed a toilet brush downstairs, other than that a perfect stay and would recommend.

Lovely few days spent at Stanley Barn with another couple of friends and two dogs. Very cosy and comfortable cottage. Great kitchen with a good range of equipment if self-catering. We hadn't registered that there was a hot tub so we didn't use it this during our stay but it is set in a nice little private courtyard garden along with a barbecue at the side of the property. The only thing we think would be a welcome addition would be a shower caddy in each of the shower cubicles and perhaps a night light on the landing. Location is great for exploring the area. Ideally we would have liked to be within easy walking distance to a pub; we did walk to the Frocester which is not far but there are no pavements so would not like to try this in the dark. It looks like there is a pub currently being done up in the village which, if so, would be very convenient. There is a handy bus stop by the church which we used for a trip into Gloucester and you can also use it to get to Stroud. The Saturday market in Stroud is well worth a visit. There were some local activities taking place whilst we were there - monthly supper club with food vans at the hosts farm next door, barn dance at the church, and dog show on the park. We did not use these on this visit but would definitely research what's on if we stay here again. All in all a great place which I would recommend.
